When designing a knife, you have to consider a lot of different things.
What is it mean´t to do, what is the knife gonna have to endure during it´s life?
How thin does the edge need to be? What kind of conditions will it meet, the proper materials to use in it´s construction? Surface finish?
These are all questions that I ask myself when designing a knife.
When you have all that figured out, that’s when you can create something that will stay with both you, and those who come after you.
High carbon kitchen knife. Made with 80crv2 blade steel. Copper bolster. The handle is a hidden tang construction with desert ironwood and a brass tube at the end for easy storage.
A smaller vegetable knife. The blade is made from 80crv2 high carbon blade steel. The handle is a fulltang construction with an unknown but striking wood with brass pins

My first finished damascus knife. Made from ss 2090 spring steel and iron for the blade. Forged to about a hundred layers. The handle is made with a brass bolster and pin. The wood is unknown but quite beautiful.
